Once upon a time there were two wizards who met over dinner after a Time Warp had realigned their world. One unwittingly drank a potion and the other found opportunity and then there were entrance halls, libraries, swimming pools, Italian eateries, and forest trolls. There were summers in London, summers apart, full moons, teases and fears. There were worries and doubts and there were incredible moments never forgotten, and always an abundance of chocolate eclairs. .......................... And so they fell in love.

They have a long history despite the fact they know one another for only a few years. It all began in 1937 with a love potion slipped in Cedric’s drink by a vicious mind and by Seamus taking his chance for silly action he was so used to. Since the day their lips locked though, something grew, something wonderful. At first, it was hard for either of them; Cedric was struggling with what he felt, Seamus - with the continuous attraction that seemed not to go away. Dark halls, chocolate eclairs, libraries, quiet pleas and eventually they decided to give into that incredible and confusing thing that they felt, no matter how the world, that had changed with the timewarp, would take the tight relationship of the two boys.

And yet, there was a secret in the loom and Cedric knew nothing of it, increased worries shadowing his mind and heart with the reoccurring disappearances of Seamus, only to return weary, plucked, pale. It did not take too long and eventually, through nightmares and worries, old and dusty leaves of books, Cedric’s mind found out the truth. Despite Seamus’ worries and beliefs, Cedric accepted the monstrous illness that coursed through the bloodstream of then still Slytherin student. From there on, however, he also took stance, tried to help and the things seemed to have some hope, as much of pain as they caused for both.

Then a year of haze and confusion. Cedric’s attempts to become an animagus and Seamus’ slip-up as he cornered another guy.

It planted a seed of fear, uncertainty in Cedric’s heart.

Numerous tries, days spent together and not, until a certain day which ripped both of their hearts. Cedric told it to be for the best, hoping to move on. Seamus, he could never imagine how to live by moving on. Two wounded wolves, trying to lick their wounds but not realizing that their own, lone attempts were of no good.

Friendship was if a pact, an attempt to move on but without letting the other disappear from their lives; they couldn’t, and neither realized that it was an agreement doomed to fail, strong emotions still burning in soft glow of coal where once a blaze of white-burning fire lied. And yet…. the coal was strong, even stronger than the flame that had seemingly started to disappear in at least one of the hearts involved. Whiskey-addition to the soft ambers of the love that still lingered, and a night of friends turned into a moment of old lovers, the heated kisses so natural, so missed, so… needed.

A conflict arose.

A friendship was lost.

A chance occurred.

One dark night in which everything could have collapsed and crumbled, they met, and under the dark sky, in the shadows of the large trees and the gates of Hogwarts, they came to agree once more, but without a lie, without hiding anymore, because it was too hard and it had been too long. New start was made and slowly the steps taken towards exploring and understanding how does it work that, no matter the fears and doubts, the softer emotions continued and how come the presence of a certain person can weight out the presence of the whole world.

Seamus, stop. You’re making Cedric hyperventilate.
